Brian
Reich – Principal, EchoDitto, Media Rules!: Mastering
Today's Technology to Connect With and Keep Your Audience
Brian Reich,
Principal, was previously the Director of New Media at Cone Inc, a brand
strategy and communications agency in Boston, and a Senior Strategic Consultant
for Mindshare Interactive Campaigns, an interactive agency which helped many
leading corporations, associations, non-profit organizations and governmental
entities leverage the communication opportunities created by technology. From
2000- 2004, Brian ran his own consulting business, Mouse Communications, which
helped political
and non-profit organizations use new technology to improve
communications, drive action, and support fundraising. Brian launched
Mouse
Communications after serving two years as Vice President Gore's
Briefing
Director in the White House, handling both official activities and
activities
during his 2000 presidential campaign. During the 1996 cycle, Brian was
the
youngest campaign manager in the nation, leading a U.S. Congress
challenger race
in Connecticut.
Brian is a regular writer and speaker on the issues involving the
impact of the
internet and technology on politics, society, and the media. He is the
editor
of Thinking About Media, a blog examining media consumption habits
around the
world (among other things). His book, Media Rules!, was published by
Wiley
& Sons in December 2007. Brian attended the University
of Michigan and is a graduate of Columbia University. He and his wife,
Karen Dahl, and their son, Henry, live in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Silberman – Partner, EchoDitto, Mousepads, Shoe Leather, and Hope:
Lessons from the Howard Dean Campaign for the Future of Internet Politics
Michael
Silberman is a Partner at EchoDitto, a leading strategic online
communications and technology firm dedicated to building vibrant
communities online and empowering people through the creative use of
emerging technologies. EchoDitto works with its clients to leverage new
media and participatory technologies as a vehicle for affecting
positive social and environmental change. Recent work includes exciting
projects with the William J. Clinton Foundation, Seventh Generation,
and Al Gore's Alliance for Climate Protection. Prior
to co-founding EchoDitto, Silberman managed the grassroots field
organizing and leadership development programs for Howard Dean’s
renowned presidential run in 2004. As National Meetup Director, he
developed a team and technology strategy that mobilized 189,000
volunteers in over 1,200 cities worldwide.He
is a frequent writer and speaker on the effective use of technology for
converting online activity into real-world action. Michael also gained
valuable organizing and political
experience at the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) and in the
Clinton White House at the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ). He
graduated on skis with a B.A. from Middlebury College.
Ben Rigby – Founder, Mobile Voter, Mobilizing Generation 2.0: A
Practical Guide to Using Web 2.0
In 2004, Ben Rigby founded and is currently co-executive
director of Mobile Voter, a non-profit non-partisan organization seeking to use
Internet technology to engage young people in civic life and politics. From
2004 to 2006, Mobile Voter conducted innovative youth-focused voter
registration campaigns using text messaging as the principal method of
engagement. In 2006, over 200 grassroots organizations made use of Mobile
Voter's software and services. In 2007, Rigby wrote a book called Mobilizing Generation2.0: Using Web2.0
Technology to Recruit, Organize, and Engage Youth to be published in 2008
by Wiley Press.
Prior
to founding Mobile Voter, Ben worked as President of 415, Inc. CTO of
DFILM.com, and co-founder of Akimbo Design. In these roles, Ben created and
managed the development of web and mobile solutions. Clients included The North
Face, Sony Pictures, Beringer Vineyards, International Fund for Animal Welfare,
California Pizza Kitchen, Old Navy, and Nokia. Ben graduated Phi Beta Kappa,
with Honors and Distinction from Stanford University.
